What a idiotic thing to live with!
I've just returned from a business trip doing 210+
on my Alfa and it's quite comfortable speed for that car! If you have a motorway with good surface and three lanes, why do I have to go 130? What’s the point having a fast car when max you can do is 60.
He should go to Germany!
Tell me about it. they are going to revise the law so that the 120kph limited roads have the radars set to 121kph. Up to 150 kph you get a 100 euro fine and no points lost (reverse points system here) which if you pay in 15 days or on the spot, is reduced to 60 Euros. Then it just escalates up with points being lost etc. Thing is, travelling below 121 kph is NOT on my to do list so I'll just drive around with 60 Euros in the glove box and drive and 150 everywhere...
Problem in Spain is Spanish driving standards. Some of the crappiest drivers anywhere!!! No consideration for other road users, and not an ounce of care about doing high speeds in a car unfit for the road. Too many road deaths, hence petty nanny laws for everyone. At least fixed cameras are sign posted and mobile units are few and far between.
