It is confusing, as dealers appear to interpret the service schedules differently.
Mine was happy to sell me an approved used 2 year old car with 8k on the clock and no service history and I was happy to buy it; (no one year service)
I was told when I bought that the requirement was a service at 18k miles, with an oil change when the light came on which as happened occurred at 14k; which is when I got the full service done anyway.
As for service rates its a buyers market, I was quoted 340 'ish by the dealer which is fine, i didn't moan about it as R50 correctly points out 'its business' but ended up with my local independent (Subaru) dealer who did a full service with Alfa parts and the right oil for 180.00; as per the schedule; they even reset all the indicators with no problem.
Cam belts I will leave to an Alfa specialist, and will of course ask my dealer for a price. Thats why I love this forum, the truth is always out there .. somewhere
