thanks again guys for the compliments on the car.
Forget about learning the B&M system Shiny , rip it out and replace it with a media-deck system (the Pioneer F910 is nice but slow startup) they are much better.
as tempting as it is to upgrade the (Bose) stereo, i'm just going to leave it stock. mostly because it's all nicely integrated. also, the GT is my primary ICE car (for competition), and the 159 will end up being driven mostly by my wife.
but thanks for the suggestion and temptation.
Re the Detail have heard great things about Lime Prime, unless you already have the Dodo try CG Jetseal and 5050 or Pete's '53
Looks great on Alfa Red !! (as I know) Check out the Alfa on CG's Pete's '53 page
i already have the Dodo Lime Prime Lite (Lite = no abrasive compared with non-Lite) and Supernatural Wax.
i've been detailing the car since the weekend, and the results are excellent. of course, 80% of it is due to the 'paint correction' stages, where i've clayed, then machine polished using 2 grades of Menzerna polish and pads.
the Lime Prime Lite was excellent in removing any remaining waxy residue, and adding depth and gloss. very easy to apply and buff off; though it's probably no better than the Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion that i use on my GT.
the Supernatural Wax probably provided the last 5% of the results. fantastic gloss. we'll see how it goes for longevity, but it's meant to be a relatively hardy wax (ie: last at least 4~6 months, subject to driving conditions). i do have one considerable issue with it, and that's because it's so transparent (literally): it was very difficult to see if it was being applied evenly and completely, so careful technique was required and it was time consuming.
i'll post more photos once i've finished detailing.
