Interesting question and one which may explain a query I have with my 2.2.
When driving normally ie up and down the box frequently the clutch is as light as a feather, albeit with a few of the commonly referred to clunks in 1st to 2nd and occasional 2nd to 3rd if you are low on revs. However, if you have had the car in any gear for a length of time (usually top (6th)), when you come to make the first downshift the clutch becomes heavy (actually heavier but not uncomfortably heavy) for that first change and then instantly lightens off again. If we are talking about a dual mass flywheel here it may be this first disengagement that takes an extra effort as the disengagement of the flywheels may take an extra effort if they are firmly 'frictioned' together.
I may simple have another isolated characteristic, but you never know?
Anyone else have this characteristic?
