Just got back from North Wales, have been walking and camping with my mates in Snowdonia.
3 fantastic days of soaking, driving rain. Great pubs, great company.
But.....the drive there and the drive back!! Whooo hoooo......
M6 to M54 towards Shrewsbury, then off to Welshpool, then Dolgellau then up to Porthmadog.
Roads were dry on both journeys, the traffic was reasonable.
I am now totally reassured I bought the right car. Fantastic cornering, great torque from the diesel, great gear change.
Really enjoyed the blat there and back, am thinking of doing it again next week just for the hell of it!
Those winding A roads through the mountains just show off the handling. Really inspired confidence to go in faster and harder as the corners came thick and fast. Brilliant.
And loaded to the gills with gear and a mate I still managed 41.9mpg there and back. Considering the fact that the car was in 3rd/4th on most of these roads I am impressed.
So a huge thumbs up.
Now off to clear off a few kilos of dead welsh flies.....
