Break-in Attempt Detected

Just wondering what it takes to trigger this message off? I have had it a few times now and haven't noticed any signs of forced entry etc. (please no funny "A break in" responses )

I don't tend to worry about it when I see it, is that bad? I just think its another of my Brera's quirks!

I get this in my 159 too - every now and then the alarm goes for no reason at all. I also get bonnet open warning too even though it's not.

I keep meaning to check it out but not done so yet as it happens a couple or so times in one day and then nothing for days or a few weeks.

I also get the same problem with the alarm. I have found that if I use the remote key to open/close the windows that usually triggers the alarm when the car is locked... unusual, but may just be coincidence!

Another 'characteristic'

Happened to my Brera too - over-sensitive detectors, replaced under warranty. Good luck !

Fairly regular occurence - mine's generally caused by either a bird crapping on the hood (I know I should dump her ), a cat walking over the car or wildlife that have taken up residence while I've had the roof down (usually a Spider in my Spider)

I'm getting this so often now that I'm almost disappointed if I return to the car and I'm not greeted by "Attempted Breaking In Detected" on the screen, .

At home the 2 most usual causes are either the neighbour's boy-racer son across the road reversing his Astra with 'tunnel-entrance' exhaust right up to within 5 feet of my grille then giving it maximum 'welly' as he takes off up the road, , or the guy around the corner blasting past on his apparently unsilenced Harley, . In fact, now if I hear either of them starting up, I rush and grab the fob in anticipation, . At work, it's when a heavy truck is parked close-by and fires up.

I keep thinking that until I can find a way of de-sensitising the system maybe I should use the 'key' rather than the remote locking, but my fear then would be that one day "attempted" might become "successful" and I'd be facing a 'no alarm - no insurance' nightmare.
