im afraid i dont get this futile attempts to save weight , i totally understand it in formula 1 racing , but on a road going car if i was that concerned i would have bought something more suitable , enjoy your car for what it is ,otherwise it might cost you more in the long run ie insurance claims.

Oops just seen where you live! Do you have an exhaust specialist near you? The stock exhaust is extremely heavy and restrictive. Change it to stainless steel straight through for a relatively cheap and easy weight saving, with substantial performance gain.
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but does this involve taking the cat out?

How much we looking at for an exhaust company to make one? Is the standard outlet manifold o.k to stay there, or will that need replacing too?

Unsprung weight can be very important - depending on the vehicle. A motorcycle probably has 15% unsprung weight, so reducing it makes a huge difference to how well the suspension performs (and therefore the bike handles). On a car, the unsprung weight is going to be more like 2% - so reducing it will be naff all difference.

Maybe if you're actually racing, where every fraction of a second might make all the difference, it'd be worth it - but getting hung up on a few kg here and there is a waste of money. Besides, as soon as you take a single passenger you've undone all the good work anyway!
