Well Happy Goodbye Brera Hello Ti Sportwagon

Well its finally good bye to the Brera S next week, when I part ex it for a red 2.4 Ti Sportwagon.

Following an endless list of minor problems with my car and eventually an admission my ARUK that they could not fix the engine/transmission noise, (as all of the 2.2's are apparantly the same, which therefore makes it okay), we have come to an agreement in order to avoid having to take this to court and to retain my custom, although I might have thought they would be glad to see me go!

Due to all of the problems I did dot want to change to another 2.2 and the 3.2 was out of the question and I did not want a standard Brera so I looked at the 159 instead. The 1.9 was okay but nothing special after the Brera so I was looking for a 2.4 and decided that the sportwagon would be more practical, and I think also looks better than the saloon. I went for the Ti to try and retain a bit of the sporty characteristics that I had with the Brera.

I eventually found one at Guest AR which was the same age and milage as my Brera and they offered £1500 more px than Meridian Milano, the rest of the difference was made up by a goodwill gesture from ARUK and a small extra amount myself.

So hopefully I will have something more positive to say rather than moaning all the time about the car and customer services. I just hope that the new car does not turn out to be as dissapointing as the Brera.

Congrats on the change.

At least you made a bad situation good by deciding to act on it. So refreshing.

Not sure about comments regarding the sw being a better looker than the Brera but there's no doubt it would certainly be more practical.

Good luck with the new ride.

Thanks for the positive comments, it was a shame that the Brera did not work out for me, but hopefully I have managed to salvage something from this and maybe continue to buy Alfas in the future.

We decided to make a weekend of it so we are staying over night at Stratford upon Avon before we pick the new car up on Monday.

Don't worry Gazhants I will take a picture of the two cars together for you. Actually there was probably one too many Black Breara S in the area, and I have never seen a red Ti SW yet.
