Hi Alfa Folk!
I'm having a problem with my gorgeous Brera 2.4 07 plate. Dealer warranty.
In May, "Have Engine Checked" popped up. They regenerated my DPF.
In JUne, "Have Engine Checked" popped up. They replaced my Overboost valve.
Since that replacement it has been smokey and a black oily sooty layer builds up all over the back of the car. The car is red but if I leave it a week, I can only see black. Shiney exhausts are ruined
So I took it in for a service and asked for the smokey problem to be looked at. They did the service and told me there was nothing wrong with it, and DPF was too expensive to replace so didnt think about it
. I could tell there was still a problem as the exhaust has a lovely smell when the DPF working, which hadn't been there for ages.
Anyway.... I left the dealer (Motorvogue Northampton) fuming, and got 15 miles down the road.....
"Have Engine Checked" popped up! I went back to to dealer and went APE!
Exhausts and surrounding paintwork black again
So at least they have an error code now, which is an intermittant DPF problem. They've refered it to Alfa Technical, but I get the impression the only way it will be fixed is with the help of you guys!!! It will still be there on monday which will be its 6th day there
Anyone had anything similar?
Would my guess make sense.... Slight oil leak in turbo blocking up DPF.
Any help would be appreciated.
BTW having read other posts.... I rarely do short journeys (I.T. geek on the road all day) and always have my throttle foot firmly in the bulkhead!
