Well the test drive didn't go so well!
The Sales Manager i've been dealing with ended up not being in... The M1 was solid in an 12 mile radius so I was unable to test it where it will spend a lot of time as you couldn't get anywhere near. The sales guy that took me out didn't know the area that well, so we ended up on very narrow country lanes!
To top it all a silly girl in a 'Festa' came round a bend at 50+ mph, took the bend too wide and clipped the drivers mirror splitting it, snapping it back and making it damage the door!
So in conclusion disregarding all of the above...
I thought the car was an absolute bargain with the £2k extra on you part exchange promo their doing!
It's well built, drop dead gorgous, handled well, sounded nice, and I didn't find the Prodrive set-up fiddly at all. If anything it handles pot holes and uneven surfaces extremely well, and is like a magic carpet ride compared to my Koni DSG Race suspension on my Arsetra.
However I did find the engine gutless (I know it wasn't run in) with that infamous huge flat spot as you accelerate in second from junctions or roundabouts. My 1.9 would leave it for dead, and is much more usable with better in gear excelleration all round.
So 2.4 it will have to be... the hunt continues!
