Sportwagon - Rear Bike Carrier

Anyone fitted a strap-on rear bike carier to a Sportwagon? If so, any hints and tips?

I have. I got one of fleabay for about forty notes. They reckon you shouldn't fit the hooks to plastic trim, such as bumpers and spoilers, but mine seems to be OK when attaching the top straps to the plastic spoiler. Because the glass is flush with the bodywork at the sides, I had to ask the supplier to send me a couple of plastic adapters, so they fit in the gully on the inside of the glass at the sides. The bottom straps fit to the base of the tailgate.

It's a high lift carrier so the rear lights are still visible, as is the number plate. So far, so good.
