Ok, now I have a little more time, I can post some further details of my visit to Mangos and the work on my car.
Firstly the car.
The ECU update was the more recent release from AR and its been reflashed so that the DPF is happier to regenerate at lower speeds in slower traffic. The sensor sensitivity has been altered with this. There was no mechanical update needed thus far unless the fault re-occurs.
There was a failure of glowplug number 5, hence the glow plug issue. It was a 5 minute swap. (damn those Bosch German parts!
Secondly a great chat with John the DET who took me around the back to show me the 11th/11th 3.2 V6 Mille Miglia Spider (with the £15k red paint job!!!
) that he was fitting a whole host of Auto Delta parts to. WOWSERS!! What an amazing car. Expensive, yes. But, wow!
The owner had purchased a great number plate (AR09JEF) and yes his name was probably Jeff. What a licky owner of such an unusual car.
We spoke at length about AR, Ferrari and Maserati and his love of the marque really showed through. Open, honest and full of technical titbits. A credit to AR and of course to Mangoletsi. Great guy.
He has developed a little mod whereby the boost of the turbo is lifted to 2.0bar peak pressure. So far its been fitted to a GT and a Mito on test by Mangos. My 159 will probably the next mule to try it on...
I spoke to him yesterday as Ive been made an offer from Angel Tuning, who have finally developed the air induction kit for the Brera/159 and John's reassurance that this will help the engine, rather than cause more issues was worth its weight in gold...
