I dont think they adjust, think they are pre-set and the only thing that can affect the jet pattern is if they are clogged/dirty/scaled up.
Used to work for VDO (doing fuel systems) and we designed washer nozzles, they called them fluidic chips, the spray is pres set, not sure if these are used on Brera/159, never really looked..... They are designed to give a wide mist spray rather than a needle point jet, it then covers a wider area and uses less water.
Mine are quite high up the screen when stationary but when moving are fine. Think this is how it is set up, as the mist can be blown off its intended path, the nozzle is designed/set up for when the car is at speed rather than stationary.
