Re: 159ti SW 1.9jtdm owner review request
I got 1.9 diesel SW in black, I agree with some of the other comments re mpg. My other gripes are poor performance from low down, you have to really push it and allow turbo to kick in. The real reason is it's a bit bloated in terms of weight to power - though I believe that 08/09 models have had shedded some of this weight. My main gripe is the stiff gear change particularly from cold and more so of course in the winter. I have had a previous thread on this issue and consensus from replies is my 159 is the exception.
Just looking at your spec why not aluminium roofbars I think they look the part more so than the black ones imo the black looks cheap.
Lastly and I'm risking lynching here but I think the alu dash looks kind of cheap (i know this contradicts my advice above on alu roofbars) and kinda obvious. Having had a 156 I always really liked it's plastic wraparound dash which in years to come will be appreciated as a classic as opposed to the 'me too' look that the 159 adopted.
It's still the best looking car on the road at any price and will be unless of course if AR replace it by something equally gorgeous though I have my doubts that the successor will be as good looking as all the design cues now appear to be coming from the 8c- look at Mito, not a bad looker by another manufacturer but imo a bit below par by AR
