Re: Spider Roof Waterproofing
I'm not convinced its absolutely necessary to re-waterproof the hood. I've had numerous convertibles, my Spider sits outside all weathers and its brilliant when it comes to waterproofing (although I did have to have a passenger door seal replaced). The autoglym hood protector is great at getting a good clean, but you do have to be careful with overspill.
I find just cleaning the hood with a sponge and clean warm water does fine. The hood is showing signs of wear around the rear quarter 'fold lines;, but I take the roof off everytime unless its wet, and after 45,000 miles its definitely been down 80% of the time, even in winter. I think it was Billy Connolly who once said, 'Theres no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes', so if its cold, put the heater on full and wear a coat !!
