Re: Brera owner to be
Maybe if Alfa valued their customers then they would sort these well known problems out. Yes the cars look great and many owners are very happy with them, but the way they treat complaints is a total disgrace.
There is no excuse for the 2.2 hesitation, the tyre wear, the Injection manifolds, etc. Yes, design problems happen, but they can be sorted during servicing, rather than trying to fob the customer off so many times they may not come back.
The failure of certain other manufacturers is of no relevance to how Alfa behave - Alfa demand a premium price so they need to offer a premium service.
Anyone who's been on the receiving end of the poor cars or poor service is never likely to buy another one (and that goes for other makes too), it just seems that other premium makes (BMW, Jag, Lexus, etc) treat their customers a lot better than Alfa.
The driving experience of the 159s and Breras does not compare with previous models - they may be better on paper, but most owners who assumed that the new shapes would be better to drive have been bitterly disappointed. In truth, the 159's and Breras are way too heavy, slow and thirsty when compared to the 156s, GTVs and GTs.
