Re: Brera owner to be
As someone who in their time has owned a fully loaded 3.2SV Brera, and a 100HP Panda I know exactly where he is coming from...
The panda is pure, cheeky accessible fun sort of like a teenage girl (I remember that far back) on a first date.. and bloody good to drive better I think than either the 500 or the Ka that are based on it and well put together better than my brera wished it was...
The brera is more complex classy and refined and she does take a bit of different driving there are layers to her that you have to gently remove and enjoy - you know like "making love to a beautiful woman" to quote swiss tony..
There are times I miss both cars - for different reasons, The brera can sell you on it's looks in 30 seconds but driving it takes a good while to get, the panda can sell you on the drive in that same 30 seconds.
then I drive the 911 and all the things mentioned about the other cars are crystallised in that (yes at a cost (not much more used than a new loaded 3.2 Brera) and it makes alfa running costs look cheap but will depreciate less)- it has that character and soul that all alfa's have - oh and the power! ;-) but know I will have/drive/borrow an alfa again one day (watch this space it may be unusual)..
