159 Door adjustment

The thread above touches on a similar theme but I was wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the driver's door on a 159.

I have a rattle which is remedied by moving the clasp in the driver's door jam so that the door is pulled closer to the car body when closed. This seems to help prevent the rattle/clunk/creak I hear when driving on speedbumps/potholes etc at town speeds.

The problem is that the door still rattles and if I move the clasp any further towards the car, the door panels do not sit flush. Can anyone clarify if the catch in the door can be adjusted to offset this and allow the door to remain both tight and flush?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 159 Door adjustment

I used to have the same annoying noise comming from the door and it was making me mad and I paid a visit to the local dealer which first asked me if i had adjusted the door and since i didnt had done it, the guy there tried to adjust the door but the rattle/clunk/creak was still there.. So the the supervisor came and applied the very good quantity of sillicon spray on all of the seals around the door after he had cleaned them ...and the crazy noise ..... HAD GONE...... realy gone... so you might want to try that...

best luck...
