159's Engine oil / Break failed

1. Got a engine oil problem which is on the small screen inside of the car each time put my key in it's shows only 3 out of 5 bar of engine oil left(almost only half left)but if i check from engine it is full.
Why is that ?
PS: I do park on the flat road every day.

2. Got a Break failed as well on the same day, fully break but nothing happened release and break again breaking system back to work.
Exactly same problem with some other mats post before.
Dont know wat to do with this
(if send it back to Alfa they must wast a day to check and then tell you there is nothing wrong with it)

Alfa 159 Ti 2.2 MY2007 in Sydney
Thank you very very very much if anyone could help

Can't help you with the brakes - get it to a dealer.

With the oil, do you check it under the bonnet after the engine has been allowed to stand for at least 20 mins ?

2.2JTS in my experience does not use much oil about 250ml between services!!! Not sure that the graphic is reliable have the same problem myself, not all bars light up then check oil level and its fine.

Same here with the oil thing. Sometimes it shows full other times it's two bars down. Just an Alfa thing I guess

Re: 159's Engine oil / Break failed

I wouldnít worry if the electronics show it one or even two bars down occasionally; my 2.2 has done this fairly often over all the time Iíve had the car. The dip sticks the only real way to check and I reckon the electronic gauge is more of a safety indicator for lazy people like myself.

I have 45k on the clock now and as virtually everyone else reports, despite what the gauge sometimes says, Iíve never had to add a single drop of oil.

You mentioned mats? Do make sure the mat has been secured with the two plastic self tapping screws, otherwise itís all too easy for it to ride up under the pedals. This happened to me on the very first day and it scared the pantís off me.

When you say brake failure, what do you mean exactly

Do a search on here for 159/Brera brake failure and you'll find some interesting threads...

In fact another 2.2 JTS in Oz had the same issues recently.

]BRAKES FAILUR?? O>M>G. Get it checked as soon as possible and DO not except any thing other than a permanent fix. Remember you should inform the relevant Department of Transprt in your country and report armed with the threads from this site. Only then will Alfa Romeo act!!
