Re: Never, ever again!
I have had time to reflect on the replacement car and although there are alarm bells ringing, I feel that it is much better than my last one.
I guess these issues are "just a feature of the model"
We looked at the cracked engine cover and discovered it has had a section cut out (see separate thread : what's the story behind this).
I am concerned as to the reason, but it may be better not to know.
As for the servicing, the dealer assured me it had been serviced and said it was just a case of stamping up the book. However, I cannot see that this is the case, since the oil was well below the dipstick level, so unless there's another problem...
The pre delivery inspection report is a joke. It has all the boxes ticked including "check dipstick" (no oil!) "check warning lights" (two showing) and "check washer fluid level" (ran out on way home).
You really have to question the integrity of such a report.
They have promised to collect the car from me, put everything right and return it to me, with proper service history (including re-doing the service if they can't demonstrate it was done).
As long as I get it back without the problems then I will be happy!
Sometimes I wonder why I didn't just buy a BMW!
