Re: Used Brera 3.2
I average about 22mpg or so, & drive 80% on motorways. So if you do lots of urban driving, its likely to be worse.
Car tax? Not sure, because mines on a lease deal & so tax is paid by Fiat leasing, but its probably in the £400 per year bracket, which I assume will get even worse over the next few years.
So, its not cheap to fuel & tax. This has been extensively covered on this forum. Don't buy the car to be a cheap run-around. If you do high mileage, think carefully. But if you only do low-average annual mileage, the cost of doing 22mpg vs maybe 30mpg isn't actually that much.
Every car has a balance of +'s & -'s. The Brera is no different. The negatives are the poor mpg & very limited rear leg room (if thats relevant to you). Performance isn't blisteringly quick, & there are other cars out there which will be better around a race track. But, the feeling of driving one, the stunning looks, feeling of (slight) exclusivity more than make up for the negatives in my book.
Oh, if you're over about 6'1" or so, make sure the test drive is long enough to ensure headroom comfort is sufficient. It does have quite a low roofline.
My next car will be another Alfa. Enough said.
