All Mangoletsi is still looking for a car for me. I am after the following: -
No more than 20K on the clock
And if possible an ex-demo, as trade is risky, due to the fact that 90% of drivers are crap (ridding the clutch etc)
I am looking to part-ex my Peugeot 407 HDi 2.0L SE (35K on the clock), but I will only get between 4K-5K for it so will need an 8K loan
I have just be to a Peugeot garage that has a 57 Peugeot 407 2.2L HDi with 170bhp (Only £145 road tax). And it is a GT spec. Which means I get leather seats and the built-in SatNav and Media Centre (7”inch screen for mp3’s, videos, and sat nave) and it only has 9K on the clock and is an ex-demo?
So I may be getting that as it is a very nice car to drive and be in, not as good looking as the 159, but much faster, 0-60 is around 8.3seconds. and the MPG is better around 47 – 50 on the motorway (tested on test drive)
I will give Mangoletsi a chance to find me a 159 (mark is on the case), although the Pug is looking good.
I need a saloon because I do loads of kayaking
, as i would have bought an alfa GT otherwise.
I have looked at the flowing:-
Mondeo - Looks crap and handles crap (all round dull car to drive)
Passat - even duller drive than the mondeo, and looks terrible
Laguna - No electronics are rubbish, looks rubbish handling is poor
Focus – BORING (nearly fell asleep just thinking about it)
Accord – overpriced, looks terrible and the 2.2L diesel is horribly underpowered (120 bhp)
BMW – Far to expensive and i will never be let out of a junction as long as i have it.
Merc C class – Rubbish, slow, looks horrible. Terrible drive
So that leaves
407 – Looks good (different) IMO, drives well but not as good as the Alfa. And the GT is very well equipped (allot like the alfa)
159 - Looks brilliant, drives very well, although it looks like it will cost me 2-3K more than the pug, i am thinking it will be worth it just to say “i own an Alfa”. But i would be more than happy with the 407, the pull from 1500 to 4000 is amazing . Was looking at the 2.4JTDm but the MPG is terrible and some people have reported hesitation at low revs.
