Re: Fitting after market PARKING SENSOR to 159
Thanks for all the input guys. I have now fitted the sensor and its working well. Took me ages to do it though. Inspite of having elearn to guide me, taking off the bumper took me couple of hours.
I cleaned off the inside of the bumper, stuck on the sensor, taped it over to protect it, routed the wire into boot thru existing flaps on passenger side, secured the control unit within the passenger side trim thru existing access pocket for wiring/fuses.
However, did not route the display unit all the way to the front though as it was too time consuming. For now I have mounted it on the rear parcel shelf between the left and middle headrests running the wire thru the hole for child seat fixing behind the left rear headset.
Must say after almost 7 hours of toiling in the cold to do it properly, the sensor works a treat!! It is loud enough even with the stereo on, and the display can been seen easily in the rear view mirror when reversing. Phew.... never want to do this again due to the length of time it took me.
Saved £100 on fitting though.... so this is going towards a remap of the famous 2.2 engine!!
