Changing glow plugs

Evening chaps,

Freind has a Saab 9-3 1.9TiD that is slow to start, I'm thinking that this could be down to glow plugs?

If so are these staight forward to change? I've done loads of spark plgs in the past, but glow plugs look a bit more complicated?

Do I just need a standard spark plug socket? I have various sizes so hoping one will fit...

Thought I would ask here as I know the engine is pretty much the same as the Alfa 1.9JTDm unit.

One last question - are they (the glow plugs) easy to get to? I have offered to help fit them, but these modern engines are covered in plastic...

Give me an old banger or motorbike any day
