Owner of a new Brera S 2.2JTS treated as a criminal!!
I love my new car, whilst not the fastest in its group, its fast enough for Guernsey with a maximum speed limit of 35mph (yes really), but handles well in an island full of corners. Except, when the car unilaterally decides I must be a criminal, for no apparent reason.
I'm not one who talks to his/hers car, so no bad words were spoken and I hadn't mistreated it in any way, so why after popping down the road to collect my Sunday paper did it decide to provide me with such frustration!!
Locked the car, bought paper, returned to car, unlocked it, put electronic key in slot and up comes the message:-
***********Inertial Switch Intervened***********
Basically, the key is not allowed to fully push in and so the starter thrust button will not activate the engine. Looking at the manual, which incidentally gives no explanation for such a message, I deduced I must have been considered a threat and therefore not trusted to drive the car, but WHY?
Of course, its a Sunday and the only dealer in Guernsey is closed, so no help there!! So AA have towed it away to their compound for safe keeping overnight.
It could have been worse, I might have been travelling late at night in the middle of desert. However, it is troublesome to know this sort of thing can happen.
Anyone else had any similar problems? What was the remedy?
