I have a 2.4D second hand 2006 car which i have had for a year and noticed what I would call a slight stuttering when doing between 55-65 mph sometimes. Then it would go away, so I just left it. I just got the car serviced from an inde garage one week ago as no dealer where I live.
On my way through a drive in town yesterday it threw a compete wobbly. Lost power, fuel gauge dropping to zero with warning light & fluctuating, engine warning light, and hillstarting warning light. Felt like running on 2 1/2 cylinders!. After stopping 2 hours for a curling match the only issue appeared to be the engine warning light. Gave it a big blast on the way home to "clear the ****" and it ran fine ----- until I slacked off and it threw it's wobbly again with all the dashboard chaos as before and a limp i will get U home. (FU)! Goes to the inde tomorrow for a check up but must say not impressed. Could be DPF in which case I will never ever run diesel again. Soot creators!! -- and DPF is an attempt to clean up ****e that starts with the OIL!
I will now happily stick 97 ron petrol + additive into my old JDM scooby leggie twin turbo and blow all alfa's off the road until I croak & in the meantime stop worrying about the fuel consumption & emmissions since I cannot stop 1.4++ billion for wanting the same.
