With regards to your general point about not receiving the answer you are looking for I understand your point and sympathise having had similar experiences on other forums.
You ask your question and don't get an entirely positive response so you start thinking three things: -
- maybe nobody knows the answer.
- maybe the question isn't getting to the right people to answer it.
- maybe the right people are reading the question but just can't be bothered to respond.
In my experience of this particular forum I think you can rule out the last of those three. If the right people are seeing your other thread then be sure you will have been given the answer if they know it.
Personally I think your problem is a combination of the first two and possibly about 75% the first and 25% the second.
If the dealer and Alfa are struggling to sort out your vibration issue then it's quite likely that it's a problem that hasn't been encountered before.
But there may also be an element of the question being in the wrong place. Yes it's a 159 but perhaps more relevant is the fact that it is a 1.9 diesel which has been around for ages in the 147, GT, and 156 (I think?).
This is not a criticism but an observation but if you'd asked the question in the 'Engines' area it might have, and might still, get to a wider audience. There just might be someone who has had the same problem but in a different car?
Best of luck with getting it sorted though.
