Hardly............ cars are mechanical devices, they break from time to time. If they fix it for free and with out fuss and sort you out with a good courtesy car you have little grounds for complaint.
Its not an Alfa thing, its a car thing - it happens to all marques.....
.... as an example my Grandads Ford Fusion which was 2 yrs old/20k miles, the engine just ate itself one day - something to do with the camshaft - resulted in a complete engine being needed.
Dont get me wrong id be somewhat miffed too, I know better than just about anyone on here about cars going wrong (My Spider is the same age as your Brera and has been to the dealers more times than I care to remember).
IF the dealer makes a mess of fixing it, then is the time to go postal. A unique/one off failure of one component is not grounds for slamming the whole marque.
This is of course my personal opinion - but hey, you asked
I presume you would be seeking some sort of compensation, personally I dont think you will get much/any.
