Can any 08 Spider owners confirm how the windows operate on your car for me please?
Let me explain...
Collected my new Spider LE 2 weeks ago and I thought I had some problems with the operation of the windows, however after a return trip to the dealers today I'm now confused?!
Basicaly the passenger window drops on the 'one touch' function, but does not raise with it, you have to hold the button constantly to raise it. The drivers window drops and raises on 'one touch'.
Also both windows will drop fully from the remote by holding the unlock button, but when holding the lock button, (as it says to in the manual and how it did on my previous Brera), nothing happens.
The dealer checked 2 08 model Spiders today, including their LE showroom car, and both behaved the same way, suggesting they are all set up this way??
The question is why? I can't understand why you can drop the passenger window with 1 touch, but not raise it, or why you can drop both with the remote but not close them?! My previous Brera, and the GT before that, both had these 'missing' functions, and both are mentioned in the manual. Is it just coincidence that the 2 cras had the same missing functions or are all Spiders set up this way? Or is it a case that older models, (my Brera was a 56 plate), had the features and new cars don't??
The technician is going to contact Alfa technical to get an answer but thinks maybe they are set up like this for safety reasons to stop kids getting trapped or something, but surely the windows have the 'anti-trap' function anyway where they stop and rewind if they meet any resistance, so this wouldn't be neccessary?
As you can see I'm very confused, help please guys!!
