Short-term rental

Anyone know if it's possible to hire, say, a Brera or GT for a day? I'd like to do a proper test drive, no tracks or the like but a propert twisty road for a couple of hours should do the trick...

Re: Short-term rental

Hertz have had Breras and GT's on their fleet in the past but it's very hit & miss - imagine renting a GT and then being 'upgraded' to a Passat estate (don't laugh - it happened).

Best suggestion would be a friendly dealer in a pleasant location - I was sold on my Spider on a 20min drive on the twistys around Piccadilly Knaresborough.

My dentist recently mentioned that he booked a car through Hertz to go to Goodwood - A focus or such but was offered a fun upgrade. For an extra £40ish he gota Brera 3.2, he was happy

Re: Short-term rental

Just arrange it with the dealer, they shouldn't mind loaning you a car for a couple of hours for an extended test drive. I borrowed a demo spider for a saturday afternoon and I'd never dealt with that dealer before. If you don't have any luck try another dealer. I've noticed a big difference between different dealers (and marques) on their test drive policy.

Re: Short-term rental

If you call the Hertz branch direct
they can normally reserve you a specific car.
Helps if you have their loyalty card too.

I think Breras are available at main airports
like LHR and LGW.

Re: Short-term rental

Fish Bros. in Swindon gave me their 159SW demonstrator for the whole afternoon ("just bring it back before we close"). Definitely worth trying your local dealer.
