OK ...I've been watching this thread from the touchline...and read the origianal threads too.
At 16K miles my Brera 2.4 oil burner needed new tyres, (19's)front left (n/s)badly worn on the inner shoulder, even wear across the rest of the tread, the right tyre worn evenly across tread but just illegal.
At the time I contacted Esure to say I was replacing with 235 /35's Nexens £106 each.... not a problem. 9,196 miles later (today) Nexens are worn to nearly illegal, with the exact same wear problem on left shoulder.
Tracking remains as it left the 'factory'.
Whilst it is clear the 'cheap rubber of the Nexens has not lasted as long as the Nero's the noise difference of the nexens is a hell of a lot less
So ... I,ve contacted 'morethan' who replied saying no problem to the Falken 452's - 245/40's at 98y rating ...and this time I will have the tracking reset.
I have not read anything about the noise from the Pirell'is but for me it's not just about the cost, they are so damn noisy
Any views about the comparible noise from the Falkens? or any other tyres for 19's ?
The other question is ...re adjusting the tracking to zero is changing the Specification of the car too....should I tell the insuarnce comapny? Coz I doubt Alfa Recommend it????
