An update on my situation.......
Just had my 3rd set of front tyres due to inside tyre wear. On average i'm getting 8.5K/set.
New tyres bought in April 08, August 08 and Dec 08.
I've had it set up exactly as per alfa's recommendations this time , with 2 bridgestones and I will monitor the situation.
If you've got similar problem take it up with Alfa UK I got them to pay 50% of the last 2 changes plus tracking. Let's put some pressure on them and make them sit up and take notice and judging he posts their are lots of unhappy people out there.
The dealership tells me there isnít a problem and that in general they do wear a lot more than most due to way that the car is set up but how can Alfa UK justify the 3 new sets of tyres in the space of 8 months? I appreciate I do higher than average mileage, normally 20/25K approx/year) but 90% of these miles are run on the motorway.
How can this be correct and how can the dealer tell me there is nothing wrong with the car? Itís ludicrous to say this normal and what we would expect. I donít have to tell you this makes it very expensive and in my case uneconomical to run.
Not sure what to next, Alfa aren't going to keep paying 50% and i don't enjoy the numerous chasing phone calls, letters, copies of invoices, photos of tyres etc. It's just hassle that I don't need.......problem is I really like the car.
I'm going to write it to car supplements in the sunday papers and see where that gets me.
Let me know if you've got any thoughts, comments
