Drunk Spider roll hoops.

Mine are loose, I clip them back on and an hour later they are off again.

Is this a common problem?

I laughed when I noticed it, another thing to add to the 'list'.

Re: Spider roll hoops.

Are they loose or broken?

Mine weren't loose at all. But the hood still ripped the passenger one clean off. It has broken all the pins that hold it on, so now it is very loose. Can't fall off though so I can still get the top down.

It's going to get fixed under warranty but the clearance is so tight I fail to see how it won't just happen again.

Mine came off on my 07 plate car - ripped off and just would not stay in place after that

Re: Spider roll hoops.

I know a few guys with Mercedes SL's, they would kill to have the problems you have, which are minor in comparison to the constant bodywork damage and bott full of water...and roofs that wont close.

And another who has just had his new A4 cabrio painted for the 4th time when yet again it got all uncoordinated and crushed the boot lid...

You need to put up with a bit of grief with cabriolets I am afraid - at any price, they are complex pieces of kit.

Unless you get an (fabric roof) MX5, which is one hand manual operation in a second and is great.

Reassuring to know we're not alone. I had two Morgans with the most manual hood you could imagine - a real nail breaker. No flapping, no leaking, no rattling just a sod to put on! Simplicity rules!
