You have been a bit over enthusiastic with the T cut and 'micro-marred' the surface with tiny scratches giving it a dull appearance.
I would use a machine and Menzerna to repolish it, but as you are doing it by hand, the easiest product to use by hand is Meguiars ScratchX (Halfords should stock) But you will need to take care, follow the instructions and be prepared to spend a good 90 minutes in it.
Once you are happy with the finish, apply a wax polish/ sealant (what ever you have, be it turtle wax/ autoglym or whatever) to protect the now raw surface.
Unless you are a detailing nerd, I wouldnt bother with any high end products on it!
