Anyone sad enough to read my previous posts will see that I've had my share of problems with my Brera - although, to be fair, ironing out the problems with an Alfa seems to be part-time job..
Now, the latest fault is the ignition electronic key falling out of it's 'keyhole' while I was driving along! Bizarrely, the engine kept running as my key ring fell into the driver's footwell....fortunately, since I was driving about 40 mph with a vehicle following closely behind.
Has anyone else experienced this? I thought for one moment that I was going insane but happily I had a passenger who confirmed that this was not my imagination. The problem seems to have been that the pincer-movement lock which holds the key in place obviously failed. What I cannot comprehend is how it is the engine was able to keep running..
Any thoughts welcome.
