Having checked the '' ex - dealer '' tyre pressures only to find them all well below the advised 2.7 rear , 3 bar front (1.8 bar to 2.4 bar) ----- I set them up correctly then filled up with V Power ready for our weekend away plus following weekend down to Portsmouth and back , also reset the trip meter . Topped up with V Power again today after 391 miles --- so brim to brim filled . The trip meter showed 37.6mpg but my fuel used and actual mileage check showed it did 39.63mpg !!! Trip meter lies but too low --- that's a surprise !
Haven't worked out if the V Power extra cost was justified but obviously the correct tyre pressures made a big contribution.
Can't complain about those figures , even though the driving wasn't spirited and did include over 45 miles of 1st 2nd and 3rd gear M25 traffic crawling. I think the tyre pressures are critical so will be checking them weekly , as they do seem to drop a little even over a few days by 2 to 3 psi on some tyres. Have also found that running too parallel , to 'low' drive entry kerbs is a no no !!! Already nicked two edges off the 19inch alloys , so will need to make sure even low or flat kerbs are mounted head on and not at a shallow angle ----- h'mmmm .
