I have been following this thread for a while and I would like to add the following.
Alfa Brera 2.4 (210) Diesel
Full to Full 35mpg
Journeys fluctuate from 33mpg to 40mpg.
I would like to point out that looking at a German equivalent we are not doing to bad.
Alfa Spider 2.4 JTDM Audi A4 Conv 3.0Tdi Audi A4 Conv 2.0Tdi
BHP 210 BHP 229 BHP 138
0-60: 7.8 Sec 0-60: 7.1 Sec 0-60: 9.1 Sec
MPG 40.5 Comb MPG 35 comb MPG 44 Comb
While the spider and brera dont reach their stated mpg figures, nor do Audi's. Looking at fuelly website the 3.0 is struggling for 30MPG.
Without sounding like a true Alfisti bias opinion, I know which I'd rather have. Oh and just to add, I have owned near on 60 cars in the last 17 years of driving and the least reliable by a long way was a Mercedes CLK convertible. If you look at a CLK forum, you will find a torrent of issues people are fed up with. The difference being that they were sold these cars on the assurance they were buying into one of the most reliable brands in the world. My car was not a lemon, it just possessed most of the typical issues.
Very happy with my Brera. Super car looks for middle class money! Third Alfa and not the last.
