It's only lighter anyway because of the airfix plastic they use in the interior.
. They're not badly built but the interiors are very boring.
I don't disagree with any of that and I don't have my head stuck so far up my arse...
Does that mean it is partially up there?
I think Alfa have done a brilliant job to deliver a car of the quality of the 159/Brera/Spider which was probably designed, developed and put in to production for less than BMW put in to R&D for the interior of the 3-series.
That may be true but, of course, if you're asking for similar amounts of money and competing with it, it's not really relevant!
And frankly, I am can't take seriously anyone who had the audacity to actually own-up to ever having a 1-series. Its a hideous monstrousity of a car.
Yeah, it's horrible to look at, although the coupe is much better looking.
the 3-series outsells Mondeos - where's the exclusivity?
That's also true but it sells well at least partially because it's good...
So we all have our choice. Let's accept that the 159 and Brera/Spider 2.4 is not up to BMW emissions or fuel economy. However, I know which I'd have on my drive any day of the week with its stunning good looks and Italian style.
Agreed - that's why we're all on this forum! It doesn't change the fact that Alfa need to do a lot better and don't look like delivering anything new in terms of engines (or technology) for some time, which is a serious drawback.
Have to also say that, if they're serious about their image as a sporting marque, what the hell are they doing producing front-wheel drive cars?!
