Re: Seven Sensational Days in the Brera Driving Seat.... but one question
My query is that this is my first diesel. Had a petrol 147 before this and gearbox of a diesel is all new to me. The problem is that sometimes (but not always) when i change from 1st - 2nd or 2nd to 3rd it isnt as smooth as it should be.
I got the same problem in my currant courtesy car. (Spider Diesel 2.4). Had it since new and given it 5000 miles and it is slowly getting better. But 1st - 2nd is not as good as my 3.2. It is slightly better when the car is worm. It might me just me – but I do not like the diesel 2.4 in first and second gear! I cannot make up my mind if it is the engine, gear box or the fact that you need a different driving style when driving diesel. It is a fact that the engine and gearbox is getting better after you got some miles on the clock.
Never been a diesel lover – can’t wait to “get out of this tractor”. The car is a “good mile eater in 4rt, 5th and 6th gear. In my opinion 6th gear should be an overdrive for fuel economy. I don’t find 6th gear geared up as an overdrive. It is just another gear.....
Alfa Spider, 3.2 JTS, Carbonio Black, Red Leader, all options...
