Sorry to go slightly off topic, but here is an update on the remap.
Version 3 of the map was loaded and Dyno tested. See results at this link:
Redot remap Vs Standard map 2.2 JTS - Alfa Romeo Images
You can see comparing the standard map, where the flatspot in both power and torque is at the bottom end! The hesitation has gone away (well almost, I feel there is a very slight hesitation but nothing you can notice or that affects driveability. I may take it back to Reds to get this even better tuned if I can find the time). I also think, like CF, the hesitation is caused by a physical problem i.e. air intake design or the exhaust; as the torque curve is smoother at the bottom end than my version looking at CF's remap (see below). MPG has also slightly improved when cruising. I am getting approx 28 mpg (trip computer) over 140 miles of mixed motorway (85mph) , A Roads (60 to 70mph) and town (30 mph) semi-enthusiastic driving. Previously it was around 25 to 26 MPG (again trip computer, I know this over reads).
I may get the exhaust done like CF has done at some point to see if it make a much more pronounced improvement.
Consider this though..... Alfa Quoted figures on the standard car!
Power = 184.5 PS (182.0 bhp) (135.7 kW)@ 6500 rpm
Torque = 230.0 Nm (170 ft·lb) (23.5 kgm) @ 4500 rpm
On rolling road with standard map:
Power = 171.2 bhp @ 6500 rpm
Torque = 179.0 Nm (132 ft·lb) @ 4500 rpm
On rolling road - Remapped:
Power = 183.7 bhp @ 6100 rpm
Torque = 200.0 Nm (147.3 ft·lb) @ 4100 rpm
The figures speak for themselves but I cannot fathom how Alfa can claim 170 ft-lb torque when in reality its only 132 ft-lb!! CF's figures seem even lower.
I do hope you guys get Alfa to take some action about the hesitation... but I got fed up driving around the issue since I've had the car; its like going on your honeymoon not being allowed to do the "deed"
I will post the before and after graph of the Reds remap once they sort out the issues on Wednesday after another Dyno run.
As far as figures go: (cant remember the torque figures)
1 run on Dyno , Standard map = 171 bhp , ~132 ft-lb
After 3 runs on Custom Map = 187 bhp, 144 ft-lb
Looks like all cars are down on power as standard, my 2.2 JTS is about 10 bhp more than CFs 2.2 Brera on the standard map! Am contemplating the vortex exhaust as well, so will be interesting to see how much improvement there is after both exhaust and Remap!
Not looking for mad power, just smooth pick-up without hesitation, decent fuel economy and a wide grin every time I drive the 159 (must admit none of these criteria are met at present on the standard car
except the grin when its parked and am staring at it! )

Please note that the stock system only had one run on the dyno whereas the replacement system had three runs, each getting more powerful, from 177 to 181 bhp. Hence it is realistic to regard the stock system as about 164/165 bhp.
