Well over the last weekend (Fri-Mon) I had the absolute pleasure of driving LB57KLM as a loan vehicle from HR Owen in London, whilst my Spider was in for work.
It was a 57 Plate 2.4 (210) Sw, with manual transmission and some rather tasty extras, inc:
-Pioneer double DIN sat nav.
-Front strut brace.
The car looks great, but we all know that. It got some very admiring glances in central London. The 19" wheels are to die for.
The engine - wow! What an improvement over the 200 version. Much smoother and more linear delivery. You chaps with the 210 engine are spoilt.
The seats are fantastic. Leagues ahead of the standard fit. Only gripe is that I couldnt get low enough, probably due to the electrical adjustment gubbins.
The brakes are sublime. The brembos give so much more feel than the big 4-pots you find on the standard diesel.
The strut brace is worth its weight in gold. Tightens up the front end and totally transforms the handling.
The touchscreen double-din pioneer sat-nav with IPOD functionality is fantastic. I still think that a TOMTOM is nicer to use, but this unit was GOOD! Its set to become an official Alfa option too
The car also had BOSE, I knew I should have specced that on my car!
Overall 9/10 for this car. If I had to but a family motor id be knocking on HR Owens door tomorrow with £26k (which is what this car was selling for).
After also having had a Sw 2.2 in the past, to me there is just no comparison..... the diesel literally spanks the living crap out of the petrol.
oh, and here she is:
