The guy said they are a bit prone to breaking though.
Too right they are, who would have guessed that such small items could cause so much irritation? My 159 came with carpet mats, but no fixings of any kind, some neat moulded socket things in the driver's side front mat, but nothing on the main carpets to attach them to, apparently an oversight by AR. When I queried this with the Dealer, they whipped two out of their demo Brera, and gave me these to fit myself, so far so good. I screwed them in using just finger pressure, one went in about halfway and would go no further, the other one just kept on going, which is where my current problem begins. This one sheared off almost straight away, leaving the lower part almost bonded to the carpets, and defying all attempts at removal, there's just nothing to get hold of. Back to the Dealer, Meridien Bournemouth, to be told that they don't have spares, and that these things aren't supplied separately, only as two measly fixings with each set of four carpets. I phoned AR UK who were quite useless and referred me back to the Dealer, and Meridien promised to look into it and phone me back, but as is the norm with almost every UK business these days (except of course my own) they didn't bother. These screw in fixings can't cost more than a few pence, but where can I get hold of one or two more, if not from AR? Seems to me that these mats are a bit impractical anyway, without a heel patch, which I'll be adding myself when it's needed, they clearly aren't going to last very long.
