Sounds weird I know but picture this.
Outside lane Motorway, lots of room fron the car in front. Yes, as we expect some idiot thinks I will jump into that space regardless and then does, in order to increase the gap between you and said idiot you gently touch the brake and lift off but horror of horrors the brakes stay on, the front dips hard and the guy behind is one stop off a heart attack thinking you have brake tested him.
This was an intermittant fault but it only took one trip into the dealers at Carlisle and them to make a phone call to AR (UK) and it was the pivot cotter pin on the pedals that had worn (6000K only and I do NOT ride the brakes) and gone a little oval and thus got the brake pedal sticking on occasions. They changed it for a Fiat Commercial Ducato one which is harder metal tne problem is fixed.
I have mentioned this as help for anyone with a similar problem so they can get the mechanic onto it straight away and this is a very quick and cheap fix.
BTW windscreen fix done in first few hundred miles and still silent.
The 'wayward' wipers that some seem to experience do not play up for me.
Still love the car. So stylish and beautiful. Lets face it the Germans don't do style (ugly BMW and MBenz). The French are not much better. Well they were many years ago but appear to be a clone now. Do the Americans still maike cars!
Whilst we wait for the next coming of a 240Z style car from the Japs who appear to want to produce uglier and uglier looking cars each year. The new range of FIAT cars are super but one step down from the Masser and affordable is our beloved Alfa.
I am not listing the five top Good and bad things on another thread as the bad things would be five blanks!
