Brera issue

Well my Brera has finally given me a problem. It has done 113k and has always been issue free, anyway, 1500 miles into my continental trip it decides to lose power, smoke out of the back, engine light on etc. It ran as if in limp mode (not that I have ever experienced it) but no real power and boost is right down. I reached my destination and switched it off. When I came back to it later it ran a little better, I connected my laptop and it shows P010F and P0238. I cleared them and it ran reasonably well, in fact I drove 300 miles. While on a motorway run I chased it a little and the engine light came back on but I still had reasonable power. I recon that I am only getting about 50% boost, if that. I suspect that my Turbo is on its way out as it does make a noise that has got worse over the past few months. What you you guys think is the best way to approach the problem.

Well I have spent most of today checking out all the sensors, MAF, Boost sensor and boost solenoid. And anything else that looked as if it might do something. All seemed to be OK, so the next thing is to check all the pipework, I have read that they can develope small holes/cracks, I think that I may have to remove the front bumper to do this job. As the turbo is making a noise I will check it out at the same time keeping the option open for a rebuild. Strange thing is that it starts, ticks over and runs as normal, just a lack of power.
Hey ho, tomorrow is another day.

The turbo is making a "whooping" sound, I had the same noise on a VW engined Jeep we have, eventually the turbo failed. I can also detect a waste gate dumping sound when throttling off but that may have been there all the time.
As for the boost, while driving it home the other night it would only boost about a third of the way up the gauge and while revving it on the drive it barely moves.

It's very bizarre, driving around in it at the moment it feels reasonably fine, but it is running on low boost and the performance is down. I have checked the actuator with MES and I can hear it clicking, although I do not have a vacuum pump sucking on the pipes seem to do what it is supposed to do, I can also hear the valve moving on the turbo. It's very strange. It starts OK, ticks over as it should and revs up but there is very little boost being reported.

To be honest I cannot remember but I am aware of the problems, however I have recently swopped my original inlet manifold for a swirl free one and cleaned it all out, so I am happy that the issue is not there.
I have just been out in the car with the MAF disconnected, no different, starts, runs, ticks over as before, reconnected it, again no change. What I did notice was that if I drove it like a petrol car it was resonable, but if I popped it into a high gear at low revs and gave it some throttle it chucked outer smoke, I am thinking as split pipe.

Must just mention when I took the car out for a test drive, I drove up to the service station and filled it with fuel and then went for a spirited run up the by pass. a mile or two in power dropped and the turbo boost dropped like a stone, my heart sank as up until that moment all seemed well and I was smiling again. Rats (or something like that) I thought, and then it dawned on me, the bloody thing was going into Regen mode, panic over, slightly longer drive and the world is spinning on it's proper axis again.
All is well with the world.
Incidentally, the car did it's task while we were away, with the obvious exception, superbly, my average fuel consumption was 37mpg, not amazing but give the conditions and speed I am pleased.
