Cleaning Alfatex Upholstery

I have a small light stain, about two inchs square, on the beige Alfatex drivers seat in my 159 . Cannot be sure, but I think its in the same area I had cleaned a much smaller stain some months ago with Turtle Wax Interior 1 dry clean upholstery cleaner which has always worked very well for me in the past on my 155 which had cloth seats. The Alfa 159 handbook with regard to fabric/velvet parts simply states "rub the seats with a sponge moistened with a solution of water and neutral detergent". Has anybody experience of cleaning bright Alfatex and if so what works best. Any assistance appreciated as I dont want to make the stain any worse than it already is.

Re: Cleaning Alfatex Upholstery

I know what you mean..'someone' left some fish and chips on the front seat of our Skoda. It has taken years of patient cleaning with non destructive gentle detergent to get it right, but it worked in the end.

Sponge and warm water, plus something like 'comfort' will do the trick. Don't go at it too hard or you can damage the fabric. I'm not sure how good the dry sprays are. I did try carpet/upholstery mousse on our stain, but I'm not quite sure how effective it was. It all looks dreadful until its dried, and only then can you see if it has worked. I don't think the mousse did any harm though.
