Road Noise

Good morning,all!
My 159 JDTM Lusso, 2008 with 86,000 miles covered has always appeared to transmit more road noise than my previous 156s. I think it is getting worse and is becoming irritating on all but the smoothest road surfaces. New Kumho tyres with a noise rating of 71 dBa were fitted all round at 75,000 miles and there is a substantial amount of tread remaining. Tyre wear appears even which suggests that the tracking is OK.
I don't want to sell the car just yet, so what else should I be doing to mitigate the excessive noise? I'd welcome your suggestions.

You may well find that you are starting to get wheel bearing noise. It slowly escalates to a mild hum under all conditions. If you want to find out which side find a nice wide empty road. Then fling the steering backwards and forwards and you should note the change in tone. And I do mean fling. You have to be quite vicious. The bad side will hum louder.

I had a lot of what I would call road/tyre noise on mine rather than a hum. Eventually traced it to a front wheel bearing.
Lifting the car up and spinning the wheels by hand I couldn't feel or hear any difference. I ended up taking off the discs and calipers and then I could feel one of the bearings grinding.
Now much quieter.

My glove box airfilter makes the most noise, actual road noise is minimal hence why I can hear the whooshing of the filter at speed above 60mph.

Good morning all and many thanks for your helpful responses.
I had suspected that the bearing on one of the front wheels was beginning to sound noisy, although this wasn't mentioned when the car was MOT tested by the main dealer in Teesside earlier this month. I'll get them to have a more in-depth look at it.
