159 SW - definitive width including mirrors!

Hi all,

Considering getting a sporty estate for my next car and a 159 Sportwagon is top of my list. There's just one problem, I need to know if it fits in my garage!
But nowhere can I see dimensions for the car including how much the mirrors stick out, or indeed how wide it is with them folded.
All I can find is the 1828mm figure which doesn't include mirrors, just the body.

Would anyone with a 159 mind nipping out with a tape measure to set my mind at ease?! thanks!

P.S. any way of working out if the car has electric folding mirrors before going to see it in person - I believe it's not as simple as Lusso trim = folding mirrors. Not a dealbreaker but would be nice to have!

2030mm seems to be the unofficial answer.

Thanks! Assume that's with the mirrors fully out in driving position?

If so, great! I've measured the narrowest part of the garage to 2040mm so with mirrors folded should be fine.

Yes, mirrors out.
You're right, Alfa don't appear to have ever published a definite figure.
I got the 2030mm from a previous thread.

The opening width of my garage door, between the frames, is 2125mm.
My Spider (same width as the 159) goes in comfortably with the mirrors folded in, though I did once manage it with the mirrors out when the electric button refused to work. That needed perfect alignment though, with very little tolerance each side.

You're not really a committed Alfa man are you? Asking questions like that. If you were, you would have knocked the garage down and built a bigger one. "Where have all the Alfa Nuts Gone - Long Time Passing". Only joking. Great car.

My next door neighbour will only buy a car if it'll 'easily' fit in his garage!
He's had a Polo, a Golf, an Audi A1 and now a Mini in the time I've lived here. Our houses and garages are identical.
And he calls himself a car fanatic! The last two have been diesels as well.
I guess we're all different...

Haha, now that would be funny. Sadly not. At least as far as I know...

Don't forget that the 19 inch wheels are so far out that you can see they line up with about the mid point of the mirrors. So by my reckoning, with the mirrors folded the widest part of the car will be the front wheels.
