Re: 159 diesel drinks and drinks
I have just checked the actual MPG on my 159 2.4 S/W - I wanted to be sure of the figures before I posted them on here. What I have found is quite shocking.
On a recent round trip to London, I tried to drive as economically as possibe to get the best MPG. I was extremely gentle on the accellerator and sat on the motorway at about 75. The aircon was off and I kept the revs down. The journey consisted of a few B-roads, 120 miles on the motorway, then approx 20 minutes through the outskirts of London. If I had driven any more carefully I would have needed a yellow becon and slow vehicle sign.
And the result : 34.3 MPG.
I could get over 50 out of the 156(150) if I drove like this.
I thought the computer must be wrong, so reset it and worked it out on a tankful of normal driving, mainly B roads. Computer said 29.4 MPG, I calculated 29.3, so pretty damn accurate.
The car has done 30k, the tracking is fine and as far as I am aware there is nothing wrong with it.
