Re: 159 diesel drinks and drinks
(I posted this on the wrong thread this morning - it is far more relevant here.......)
I have gone from a 2.4 156 150BHP to a 159 2.4 200BHP. Must say performance and economy wise I am disappointed. Yes it's a heavier car, but only by 140Kg. That's only like having a couple of passengers, so I don't buy the weight arguement.
And the 159's got a 6th gear.
OK, the 159 has more power, but it doesn't feel any quicker - in fact the engine feels much flatter. The engine also sounds more like a diesel, and is much less sporty. It seems to run out of revs verry quickly.
I've gone from 44MPG in the 156 to 32MPG in the 159. And it's already done 30k now, so not much hope of it loosening up.
I am planning to get it remapped after it has has its next service. I am told that remaps can actually improve econmy if you drive the car the same. Does anyone have any experience of this in a 2.4 159?
