What's this?

Evening all.

Found this in my spare wheel well (Brera).

Any idea what it is? I've tried to fit it in the lower boot lock but it's too big for the hole.

Hopefully it's a magic tool that'll stop water from dripping into the boot when I open the tailgate on a rainy day...

Thanks Angoose...the upper one or the lower one?

I've tried to fit it to the lower one but I can't get it to fit...it's too big (or I'm doing something very wrong)

Should go just here......

probably wont get it to fit now though, due to the 'pin' being broken on one end

Oh balls!!

I bet it has to be fitted with the trim removed. Had a look at it again and seen said 'pin', or what's left of it.

Does it do anything special? I might get a replacement. I can't stand things not being right (customary OCD reference).

Part number 71746408, according to ePER, but like always, double check if you order. Should be around 8-10UKP.
And yes....bottom trim needs removing to fit, 5 minute job max.
Wouldn't expect to see this on ebay unless you can find someone breaking a car

part number for spring (if missing) 71746410

You could also just try to drill a 2mm hole where the pins broke and fashion another with a toothpick or summat....great fun rummaging in the shed looking for something suitable lol

I repaired mine with a piece of think welding wire, easy fix. to function properly you will need the return spring.
